Brazil’s president receives Al-Azhar’s deputy

Brasília, AUG 10 (SEE) The President of Brazil Michel Temer received Deputy of Al-Azhar Abbas Shoman during his visit to Brazil.

The meeting discussed means of boosting cooperation and future communication between Al-Azhar and Brazilian institutions.

The two sides discussed citizenship as an alternative to the minority and majority terms presented by Al-Azhar at the conference Freedom and Citizenship.

The Brazilian president stressed that his country stands against discrimination among citizens, and praised Al-Azhar’s vision of citizenship and its importance for human cooperation and coexistence.

Shoman visited Brazilian officials in the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Minister of Presidential Affairs and discussed boosting future cooperation between the two countries in the upcoming period.
