President Al-Sisi congratulates Pope Tawadros II on Easter Day

Egypt’s president Abd Al-Fatah Al-Sisi sent a congratulatory telegram to Pope Tawadros II، Pope of Alexandria & Patriarch of the See of St. Mark، on the occasion of Easter Day.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed، during the cable، his best wishes to Pope Tawadros، all Coptic brothers، and to our dear homeland Egypt.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed the strong national unity and the strong ties of brotherhood and love between the people of Egypt and Muslims and Christians.
Easter Sunday is one of the most festive events among Christians worldwide. It commemorates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death، as written in the Christian bible.
It is scheduled that the Easter eve mass will be held on Saturday evening at the St. Mark Cathedral in Abassyia.On Jan. 7، President Sisi celebrated Christmas with Copts when he visited the Cathedral، in a show of solidarity and to pay respects to the ancient community.

“We، with the grace of God، are offering a message of peace and love from here، not just to Egyptians or to the region، but to the entire world.”
